Grilled lyonnaise sausage, smoked hock, braised beans and 65/65 egg ($16)
Grilled lyonnaise sausage, smoked hock, braised beans and 65/65 egg ($16)The Lyonnaise sausage is a delightful sight – a scrumptious dollop of haricot beans accompanied by gooey egg and a thick slab of grilled sausage.
Bircher museli, grated granny smith apple and almonds ($10)
Bircher museli, grated granny smith apple and almonds ($10)The museli is refreshingly healthy, with a almonds dotted throughout and bright pink slices on top. It’s not particularly mind-blowing, but a tasty rendition at that.
Long black ($3.80)The coffee is delectably smooth and well-brewed, though surprisingly not as good as the coffee sampled at Hammer and Tong.
Sencha ($3.50)The sencha is a good lot of loose leaf tea – piping hot and aromatic. I had my eye on one of those madeleines, though rather unfortunately forgot to order one on my way out. Nevertheless, Cumulus serves up addictive, flavoursome food in a sun-filled space that’s often fiercely crowded day in, day out. I can’t wait to return for lunch and dinner; it’ll be worth every penny indeed. Cumulus Inc 45 Flinders Lane Melbourne, VIC 3000
